Woke up this morning and he was staring at me and giggling. That's got to be a good sign, right? It's 10am and now he's asleep again. So he may even be happy for going to Auntie Julie's on the 11.50 train.
Our Blog-star has had a bit of a cold for the last couple of days. Been a bit grizzily and so on. We're hoping he picks up soon, because the crying cuts right through you... You think fingernails on a blackboard are bad, pah that's nothing. This makes your brain feel like its throbbing and wants to burst out just above and behind your ears and then go hide in another room where its a bit more quiet.
Today we painted Benjamin's room. Vicky's parents came down from the wirral by train ('Grumpy' and 'Nanna', will explain the former at a later date) to help, and his other grandparents came back from their holidays.
With the intent his 'unofficial' godmother, Alex, to come and 'muralise' his room, on her return from 8 months in Australia, we've gone for a yellow and blue central border with whales and fishies, and teddy bears (ermm)...
With a dark blue below the border where we hope there will be a sea-scape / 'finding nemo' / 'bedknobs and broomsticks' under water scene. On the wall with the window and the wall opposite the window a sky / baby blue, destined for clouds and brirds hopefully (although there was some random request going round for teradactyls ??).
On the other 2 walls is a colour called 'watermelon', although vicky thinks its more dark 'olive' than 'watermelon'. So anyways, the aim there is for animals of various sorts. But in general we'll just have to see.
Still trying to decide whether to paint the ceiling with the blue to make it sky over-head; there is a yellow uplighting lamp shade that would make for a good sun... Oh and the curtains are a dark banana yellow, so we'll see how it looks when its all done, and as I learn how to blog pictures, so will you.
So, the first post ehh...
Well its taken a little time to get this all set up, but its finally there. Over the next few days we'll tell you a little about benjamin and then this can get on with being a blog.
We could start with who this blog is all about...
Benjamin was born on the 1st of January 2004, so its going to be tricky to forget when his birthday is, and people are probably always going to be willing to celebrate the night before with him.
He was born at 13:10 at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow. He would have been born at home, but found it nice and comfy where he was and so was a little slow in making his first appearance.
Ok. That'll do for a start, more tomorrow I should expect.
Who am I, the narrator in this little man's story? We'll I'm his very proud daddy, Nick. But I expect that some more of the naration will be done by his mummy, Vicky.
