Divemaster

Well I am back. I have done 3 weeks in Koa toa (still can't spell it) [ed:koh tao]. I will have to some up the key events here.

I had my own bungalo on the beach. Basic double bed right on the water front. A hamock and mosquito net, and could watch the sunsets every night. The downside was that the electricity went off at 6am and back on at 6pm so you couldn't stay inside. The hamock as well didn't have the ideal positioning but my new mate Alex helped sort that out. Yep I can't even put a hamock up by myself. The other draw back that when there were heavy storms I got rained out on the balcony...and there were some heavy storms.

Koh Tao to Khao Sok National park

Next day we both left about 7ish for a night boat from koh tao across thialand then a public bus to the national park. The night boat was literally a matress between two (small matress) and a pillow each. Which is great if some morron doesn't steal you pillow and matress and be difficult about numbered seating... basically we went to the seat numbers and this girl complained, and says it doesn't matter... guess what it does, so we both had the worst sleep ever then got to the cafe stop where you swap busses an hour early then got the public bus to the park. It drops you off 3km outside and people wait for you and try and sell you rooms.

Rescue Course Koh Tao

Well we spent a day cruising round the island on motos. How embarrassing is this.... the motorbike rider fell off. In my defense I was on a little scooter going up a steep hill that was made of sand and just didn't give it enough welly so fell off laughing. Gavin came running to rescue. Few scratches but one guy on a dirt bike had problems, so i didn't feel bad and you want to see the amount of people here on crutches because of moto accidents. Not sure if i have mentioned this or not.

Koh Tao

This is why I have not updated regulary been doing exams as you will see.

Well, we arrived. Probably the nicest buss I have been on so far. Double decker, TV playing Lost in space, air conn, comfy chairs, blanket... didn't get one wink of sleep. Boy does Gavin fidget!

We get to the ferry port about 5am, get this big catamaran to the island. Wow! Sandy beaches, beach huts, boats, blue skies WOW! Guess what more water pistols when the taxi picks us up to go to our resort, we are drenched again.

Back to Bangkok (Again)

Well sorry I have not updated this sooner but we have been very busy. To start with it was an interesting border crossing. We were told we were travelling in a VIP air conditioned bus. Well it was true we were travelling in a bus, but a small mini van which picked us up from our hotel at 7am which we were told would take us to the bigger bus. An hour later and we are still driving round Siem Reap, as ther bus driver seems to be lost already... not a good sign considering we have not gone anywhere.

Chiang Mai

Just to add to the trekking bit. When we were at the first village a heard of 20 cows came storming through round the dinner table, not what you expect to see.

That evening went to a brilliant fish restaurant with Mori and Nicole the Australian honeymooners I met. They were great and took charge in ordering everything so we had every different kind of prawn dish imaginable. Must go to 1770 when I am in Aussie land as it sounds brilliant (Nic's home town). They are an ace couple and well worth the next day hang over.

Sukhothai

After a six hour bus journey reached Sukhothai, hired bycycle and watched the sunset over them temples of the historical park... that was neat. Chilling out for a day here, I hired a moped and braved the journey into new Sukhothai. Not like riding my bike at home still I haven't fallen off yet.

Back to historical sight then up early to Chiang Mai, another six hr bus journey. Not much else to do here!
